After a very successful third appearance at the EMMYs, the CYBA Designer Water Contest will be returning in 2026 and we would like to encourage attending yachts to enter.

 

The purpose of the contest is to highlight the great taste of water produced on board, shine a spotlight on the creativity of the yacht chefs/stews and demonstrate easy ways to eliminate plastic water bottle waste. It’s easy to do and fun.  

 

Here are the simple rules:

 

  • Prepare a flavoured water infused with flowers of your choice. Rose, jasmine, hibiscus, lavender, chamomile, elderflower, are some popular choices but the only limit is your imagination and also think about sustainable sourced ingredients going local and organic

     

  • Use water produced by your watermaker or filtration system or from large reusable water containers if the other two are not available

     

  • Your water must be served in reusable glasses. No single-serve plastic cups, plastic    decorations, or plastic straws, etc.

     

  • Create a name for your water

     

  • Print a copy of the recipe and display

     

  • Make sure to list your yacht name, the water’s name, where the water came from, the ingredients and the recipe

     

 

You will need to set up a small display each day of the show with the water, recipe, and reusable glasses. It should be the same recipe and presentation each day. It can be self-serve.

 

Important:


Voting this year will be a digital affair. Each yacht will be assigned a unique QR code to display beside their water. By scanning the code, brokers will be able to rate the water that they have sampled based on Taste, Presentation, and Adherence to the Rules. At the end of the Competition, the winners will be decided based on the highest ranking. Simple and paper-free!
